Rejuvenating your skin is easier than you think at our practice in San Diego.  With PDT, or PhotoDynamic Therapy, wavelengths of intense light, delivered by your doctor, are intensified by ALA, a topical sensitizer, for maximum effect. 

Originally designed and still used as a superficial cancer treatment, the uses for Levulan and PDT continue to expand.  Thus treatment targets abnormal cells of any type, it therefore boosts the treatment of cancer, precancer, and photodamaged cells.  We use this to clear skin of actinic keratosis, and acne. Levulan multiplies the effects of IPL and V-beam treatments.  Strict sun avoidance for 36 hours after the treatment is necessary.  The skin is pink and tight for 2-3 days and there may be mild exfoliation or peeling.
