San Diego Perlane® Treatment
Perlane®, like Restylane®, is an hyaluronic acid-based injectable gel, designed to smooth deeper wrinkles than Restylane or JUVÉDERM®. At Moradi M.D. in San Diego, Perlane is especially recommended for patients with deeper creasing of the skin and less supporting collagen. It is indicated for treating nasolabial folds and wrinkles, and the volumetric filling as in the "liquid lift."
Hyaluronic acid, the basic material of Perlane, is found naturally in your body as a skin filler and joint lubricant, but diminishes with age, leaving the skin susceptible to wrinkles.
Perlane is gradually absorbed by the body, since it is a natural compound. However, Perlane increases its durability by binding water molecules as it is absorbed. This allows Perlane to maintain its volume for as long as six months. You can have touch-ups, revisions, and re-treatments to customize your results to perfection. There is also evidence that hyaluronic acid-based fillers increase your natural collagen levels, leading to a permanent improvement of facial wrinkles.
You will not need an allergy test prior to your procedure because Perlane is not animal-based.
The procedure
Perlane injections take about 15 minutes, like other injectable fillers.

Recovery
During recovery, you will probably experience minor swelling. Because Perlane is injected more deeply, the swelling may be less pronounced than for other hyaluronic acid fillers. It is best to avoid strenuous activity, sun exposure, and excessive heat for at least 24 hours after treatment.
