San Diego Brow Lift
Great brows can be an attractive feature that sets the tone for the entire face. Brows frame the eyes and call attention to important facial features. They react with facial expressions and communicate emotions like surprise, joy and worry.
Over the years, the face begins to show wear and tear from those millions of daily expressions. The San Diego brow lift cosmetic procedure smoothes eye and forehead wrinkling, lifts sagging or tired brows, and creates a younger, more carefree appearance. This is a very popular and safe procedure in San Diego for facial rejuvenation.
A brow lift, or forehead lift, can be performed as an outpatient procedure under local anesthesia with deep sedation, or general anesthesia, and may take 1 to 2 hours. With the classical or "open" method the incision is hidden just inside or by the hairline across the scalp and between the ears. Your surgeon lessens the appearance of wrinkles by tightening selected muscles and releasing tissues, which cause wrinkles. The eyebrows may also be elevated, and excess skin at the incision will be removed to allow a gentle re-draping of your forehead skin. Many of our patients opt to combine brow lift with a Face Lift, eyelid surgery, or laser skin resurfacing for a more dramatic cosmetic result.
Your San Diego Brow Lift Options
Our doctors offer the following types of brow lift:
- Thermage® Thermalift™ – non-invasive, outpatient, tightens the skin around the eyes and lifts the brows.
- Temporal lift – small incision in temporal hair, lifts the lateral brows. Often combined with upper lid repair.
- Trichophytic brow lift (hair-loving) – A complete eyebrow lift performed in-office that shortens rather than lengthens the forehead.
- Endoscopic –Can accomplish cheek and mini-facelift through small incision hidden in the hair. Minimally invasive, rapid recovery
Endoscopic or minimal-scar brow lift is performed using a tiny fiber optic lens inserted through half-inch incisions placed in the hairline. The lens is attached to a camera, which is connected to a television, allowing for visualization of the surgery. Additional half-inch incisions are made for the insertion of tiny scalpels, scissors and retractors. Your surgeon performs the procedure while viewing the television monitor and manipulating the tiny instruments externally.
An endoscopic brow lift is particularly useful with younger patients where the removal of excess skin is not required. With an endoscopic brow lift, loss of sensation or hair at the incision site is minimized. Since an endoscopic brow lift can significantly reduce the frown lines between the eyes, it
