Upper eye lid lift, also known as
blepharoplasty, is one of the most common procedures performed in a
Facial Plastic Surgery Office. Most men and women start to see the signs of aging around their
eyes in their early thirties. As time progresses the
upper eye lid skin becomes more prominent and in some instances may interfere with their vision.
The procedure to correct this issue involves a surgical procedure that is usually performed under local anesthesia. For the
upper eye lid lift, an incision is made in the crease of the
upper eye lid to remove the excess skin and fat as needed. The objective is to bring back a more youthful and natural look. The incision is place in the fold and as time progresses it usually becomes very difficult to detect.
The recovery from
eye lid surgery is very rapid and one can usually return to normal activity within a week.
Like any other surgery the surgeon needs to be experienced in facial plastic surgery to obtain the best result.
