Botox® Neck Lift

Botox® can be injected in the neck bands to relax the superficial neck muscles. These are the muscles that contribute to the hanging skin cords that can be seen in the neck. The physician performing the injections must have the proper training and have a thorough understanding of the neck anatomy.

The side effects are very rare but can be significant such as problems with swallowing. The use of Botox® in the neck is Off-Label and must be discussed in length with the physician experienced in these procedures.

Botox® is placed just under the skin in the neck muscle called Platysma. After a period of seven to ten days one notices tightening of the neck as a result of relaxation of the muscle.

This procedure will not work for individuals with significant skin laxity. In those instances only lower face and neck lift will be effective.

Lifestyle Lift

Lifestyle Lift, S-Lift, Quick lift all have one thing in common; they are trying to appeal to the public

Face lifts need to be specific to each individual patient. A surgeon cannot use a cookie cutter approach for every face lift. All patients are made differently. They have different bony structures, skin thickness, and muscle structures. Each individual patient should be evaluated by a qualified surgeon based on their unique facial structure and their desire.

The best face lift is one that corrects patients concerns so that it is safe, effective and long lasting without tell tale signs of surgery. This can only be done by a surgeon who has the surgical training and skills for those procedures.

Botox, Fillers and Skin Care

As a Facial Plastic Surgeon my expertise lies in face lifts although I feel fortunate to practice in a time when there are many noninvasive procedures available to rejuvenate the face.

The aging of the baby boomers has ignited the innovation of newer and less invasive procedures so that one can continue to look young without having to take any time off of work.

As the number of invasive facial procedures has continued to decline gradually, the number of non invasive procedures has risen exponentially. Skin care, Botox® and fillers are now the corner stone of facial rejuvenation.

Botox® is the most common cosmetic procedure performed in the United States today. Botox® is a highly purified protein and once injected in specific muscles of the face it causes weakness of that muscle and leads to softening of wrinkles and lines. Botox® has many different applications and for example can be used to lift sagging eyebrows and neck bands.

Fillers are used to reduce or eliminate deep wrinkles and lines. Some of the most common areas for fillers include the laugh lines, lips, cheeks, temples and lower eyelid hollowness. It is exciting to see that the use of fillers has continued to grow and commonly they are used to reestablish the youthful facial volume.

Laser Hair Removal

Winter is the ideal time for hair removal. During the colder season we are less likely to have sun exposure and are better candidates for lasers. Also there is enough time until the beginning of the summer to complete the treatment sessions.

You can spend your summer hair free and feel comfortable in your new bikini or sleeveless tops.

Laser hair removal works by targeting the melanin (the dark pigmentation in hair and skin) at the base of the hair follicle. It destroys the cells that make new hair and as the treatments continue the hair becomes lighter and thinner. It eliminates stubble and ingrown hair.

There are many different lasers and light treatments for laser hair removal. Some are more effective and safer than others. One needs to do some research before starting their treatment.
