Allergan™ has announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved LATISSE™ (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution) 0.03% as a prescription treatment for hypotrichosis of the eyelashes. Eyelash hypotrichosis is another name for having inadequate or not enough eyelashes. Following this approval, LATISSE™ will be marketed to consumers as the first and only FDA approved medical aesthetics treatment that is scientifically proven to enhance eyelash prominence as measured by increases in length, thickness and darkness.
This product will be dispensed by physicians only. Our office serves on the advisory board for Allergan™ and we anticipate to play an important role when this product is released.
